Dr. Baniyas has occupied several senior leadership positions in higher education and health including Dean College of Medicine and Provost (Chief Academic Officer) at UAEU. He also worked as Vice Chancellor at Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE), Academic Advisor at the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Executive Director for Higher Education at the Department of Education & Knowledge (ADEK), Abu Dhabi. Dr Baniyas served on Board of Trustees of Mohamed-5-University, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Marriage Fund, Federal Health Authority and UAEU Council. Notably. He is founding Chair for Emirates Board of Health Specialties. His major committee membership include Drug Registration, Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety, Medical Certificates Evaluation & Certificates Equalization. He was involved in accrediting Medicine and Pharmacy Colleges and acted as External Examiner and Evaluator for various Higher Education Institutions. Dr Baniyas lectured on poisoning, chemical, biological and radiological warfare agents, medication safety, and pharmacotherapy of various diseases such as epilepsy, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. He received various awards and grants, supervised numerous PhD students and published over 100 papers and over 100 conference abstracts in the neuroscience, toxicology, community health and education fields. He served as editor and reviewer for medical and pharmaceutical journals.

Michael K. J. Milligan is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in the STEM disciplines. In this role, Milligan is responsible for all aspects of ABET global operations and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Under his leadership, the organization has increased its geographical reach and diversity, now representing 35 member societies and over 3,700 accredited programs in 30 countries.Prior to joining ABET, Milligan held various positions in government and academia, including 24 years in the U.S. Air Force. He served as associate professor and deputy department head in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and later worked at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. He earned his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, his MS from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and his BS from Michigan State University. Milligan also holds an MBA from Western New England College and is a Certified Association Executive. He is a senior member of IEEE, a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor societies and a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and Maryland.

Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki is the President of the University of Dubai. Dr. Bastaki is the recipient of the highest award in the UAE, the “Emirates Excellence Award in Sciences, Literature and Arts”, in the field of Sciences. Dr. Bastaki’s extensive experience in education, leadership, technology and communications will prove a major asset in leading the university into its next progressive phase, which besides the building of a new campus and the addition of several programs, such as a Master of Laws degree and Doctorate degrees in Business Administration. Previously, Dr. Bastaki worked as a professor at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) specializing in Communications Engineering. He also held positions as: CEO of ICT Fund; Director of Education, Training and Research and Development for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO); Consultant and IT Project Manager for Al-Ain Municipality; Board member of KHDA’s UQAIB and was member of many academic boards. He is one of the founders of DSO and RIT-Dubai. He is Honorary Chair of IEEE, Chairman of Emirates Science Club, Board member of the Cultural and Scientific Association and was a Board member of Ankabut (UAE’s NREN) and many more. He is the Chair of “Drones for Good Award”, “Robotics & AI for Good Award” and “Emirates Energy Award”. He also judges the Dubai-initiated competition 10X. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Innovation Award in Project Management. He has organized hundreds of events, conferences, forums and competitions. During his time at UAE University, DSO and ICT Fund, Dr. Bastaki chaired several technology and research boards, initiated technology incubation concepts and coined on R&BD terminology, where he brought forward the rich experience of enhancing the University of Dubai’s research drives and futuristic programs. His main goals are to enhance Research & Business Development to serve the industry and fulfill his drive towards his vision of “Made in UAE, Sold Globally”. Dr. Bastaki received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of California, San Diego and his PhD from University of California, Irvine, before returning to help improve the education and technology sectors in his homeland, the UAE. James N. Warnock is a professor and the founding chair of the School of Chemical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA. Before coming to Athens, Warnock served as the associate dean for academic affairs at Mississippi State University’s Bagley College of Engineering. He earned a doctorate in chemical engineering and a master’s in biochemical engineering from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, before completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Warnock has conducted research in the areas of cell and gene biomanufacturing, bioreactor design, tissue engineering and cellular mechanobiology. He is actively involved in engineering education research and has earned international acclaim for his work using problem-based learning to enable students to develop professional skills. He currently serves as the director for Engineering Workforce Development for the NSF Engineering Research Center in Cellular Manufacturing Technologies (CMaT). Warnock is an adjunct director of professional offerings for ABET. In this role, he facilitates the planning, production and execution of the organization’s professional-development programming and directs activities related to educational offerings and workshop-facilitator training.

Dr. Mohamad's teaching experience covers the preparations and deliveries of a wide range of courses including electric circuits, power systems, renewable energy, and electrical machines. Also, his experience extends to special topics which include materials that cover the latest technologies and industry requirements. Dr. Mohamad's 15 years of industrial experience cover the design, construction, management, and commissioning of complex power systems networks and renewable energy infrastructure projects. His past experiences involved working with the latest technologies within the advanced electrical power systems for utilities and railways. His consultancy work covers the public and private sectors. Dr. Mohamad introduced advanced equipment to the railway and renewable energy networks which add stability and cost saving to the project. He also managed the team for the new type approvals and updated the training structure for the introduced equipment. Dr. Mohamad received numerous appreciation for his outstanding performance from the industries. He also delivered numerous training workshops to national and international organizations within the electric power system and renewable energy industries. The training captures the latest technologies and their impacts on safety, environment, society, budget, and return on investments. Dr. Mohamad has over 10 years of research and postgrad experience at Western Sydney University and American University in Dubai. His interests include high-voltage electrical power systems, electrical machines focusing on the switched reluctance machine, renewable energy, advanced smart grid for embedded generation, and high-voltage transmission lines and substations. He has many publications in high-voltage earthing systems, lighting design, smart power systems, electric machines, PV solar systems, and wind energy. Daniela Iacona is the Director for International Engagement and Governance at ABET, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits college and university-level programs in the disciplines of applied & natural sciences, computing, engineering, and engineering technology worldwide. Ms. Iacona has supported ABET’s mission for fifteen years and has played a key role in the development and implementation of its global operations plan. Ms. Iacona currently oversees all of ABET’s international initiatives, including its engagement in mutual recognition agreements, memoranda of understanding, and global outreach and collaboration activities. In her dual role, Ms. Iacona is also responsible for managing all operational activities related to the governance of ABET.
