Dr Baniyas obtained his PhD in Pharmacology from University of Wales (Cardiff) in 1993. His clinical qualifications includes Board Certification by American Academy of Clinical Toxicology, American College of Forensic Examiners, American Academy of Pain Management & American Psychotherapy Association. He is Fellow of American College of Clinical Pharmacology, American College of Forensic Examiners, Royal Society for Public Health; American Psychotherapy Association & Honorary Fellow of Faculty of Occupational Medicine. Dr Baniyas is currently Director of Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Education, UAE as well as holding Professorial Rank at the College of Medicine, UAE University (UAEU) and Consultant Clinical Toxicologist at Emergency Medicine Department, Tawam Hospital, SEHA. Dr. Baniyas has occupied several senior leadership positions in higher education and health including Dean College of Medicine and Provost (Chief Academic Officer) at UAEU. He also worked as Vice Chancellor at Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE), Academic Advisor at the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Executive Director for Higher Education at the Department of Education & Knowledge (ADEK), Abu Dhabi. Dr Baniyas served on Board of Trustees of Mohamed-5-University, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Marriage Fund, Federal Health Authority and UAEU Council. Notably. He is founding Chair for Emirates Board of Health Specialties. His major committee membership include Drug Registration, Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety, Medical Certificates Evaluation & Certificates Equalization. He was involved in accrediting Medicine and Pharmacy Colleges and acted as External Examiner and Evaluator for various Higher Education Institutions. Dr Baniyas lectured on poisoning, chemical, biological and radiological warfare agents, medication safety, and pharmacotherapy of various diseases such as epilepsy, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. He received various awards and grants, supervised numerous PhD students and published over 100 papers and over 100 conference abstracts in the neuroscience, toxicology, community health and education fields. He served as editor and reviewer for medical and pharmaceutical journals.

Michael K. J. Milligan is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in the STEM disciplines. In this role, Milligan is responsible for all aspects of ABET global operations and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Under his leadership, the organization has increased its geographical reach and diversity, now representing 35 member societies and over 3,700 accredited programs in 30 countries.Prior to joining ABET, Milligan held various positions in government and academia, including 24 years in the U.S. Air Force. He served as associate professor and deputy department head in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and later worked at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. He earned his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, his MS from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and his BS from Michigan State University. Milligan also holds an MBA from Western New England College and is a Certified Association Executive. He is a senior member of IEEE, a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor societies and a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and Maryland.

Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki is the President of the University of Dubai. Dr. Bastaki is the recipient of the highest award in the UAE, the “Emirates Excellence Award in Sciences, Literature and Arts”, in the field of Sciences. Dr. Bastaki’s extensive experience in education, leadership, technology and communications will prove a major asset in leading the university into its next progressive phase, which besides the building of a new campus and the addition of several programs, such as a Master of Laws degree and Doctorate degrees in Business Administration. Previously, Dr. Bastaki worked as a professor at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) specializing in Communications Engineering. He also held positions as: CEO of ICT Fund; Director of Education, Training and Research and Development for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO); Consultant and IT Project Manager for Al-Ain Municipality; Board member of KHDA’s UQAIB and was member of many academic boards. He is one of the founders of DSO and RIT-Dubai. He is Honorary Chair of IEEE, Chairman of Emirates Science Club, Board member of the Cultural and Scientific Association and was a Board member of Ankabut (UAE’s NREN) and many more. He is the Chair of “Drones for Good Award”, “Robotics & AI for Good Award” and “Emirates Energy Award”. He also judges the Dubai-initiated competition 10X. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Innovation Award in Project Management. He has organized hundreds of events, conferences, forums and competitions. During his time at UAE University, DSO and ICT Fund, Dr. Bastaki chaired several technology and research boards, initiated technology incubation concepts and coined on R&BD terminology, where he brought forward the rich experience of enhancing the University of Dubai’s research drives and futuristic programs. His main goals are to enhance Research & Business Development to serve the industry and fulfill his drive towards his vision of “Made in UAE, Sold Globally”. Dr. Bastaki received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of California, San Diego and his PhD from University of California, Irvine, before returning to help improve the education and technology sectors in his homeland, the UAE. Dr. Stephanie Farrell is Professor and Founding Head of the Department of Experiential Engineering Education (ExEEd) at Rowan University. Stephanie is President of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies and Past President of the American Society for Engineering.

James N. Warnock is a professor and the founding chair of the School of Chemical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA. Before coming to Athens, Warnock served as the associate dean for academic affairs at Mississippi State University’s Bagley College of Engineering. He earned a doctorate in chemical engineering and a master’s in biochemical engineering from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, before completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Warnock has conducted research in the areas of cell and gene biomanufacturing, bioreactor design, tissue engineering and cellular mechanobiology. He is actively involved in engineering education research and has earned international acclaim for his work using problem-based learning to enable students to develop professional skills. He currently serves as the director for Engineering Workforce Development for the NSF Engineering Research Center in Cellular Manufacturing Technologies (CMaT). Warnock is an adjunct director of professional offerings for ABET. In this role, he facilitates the planning, production and execution of the organization’s professional-development programming and directs activities related to educational offerings and workshop-facilitator training.

As the Provost - Vice President for Academic Affairs at RIT Dubai, Dr. Khawaja believes in the creation of a quality education environment through the recognition of education’s core pillars and values. He has an academic career that focuses on establishing systematic quality assurance standards that are learning outcomes centric leading to sustainable improvement in the quality of university academic programs utilizing the latest technology whenever feasible. He also provided architecture and systems consultancy to several corporations. Dr. Khawaja has over 25 years of experience in Java technologies. Dr. Khawaja delivered many projects to fortune 500 companies. He also delivered over 50 professional training courses. Dr. Khawaja holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University in Computer and Electrical Engineering. His consulting and research activities are in the area of software development and enterprise systems architecture and technologies.

Hany A. El Kadi is a Professor and the Vice-President of Academic Affairs at Liwa College of Technology and Al Khawarizmi International College in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Dr El Kadi received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta in Canada

Dr. Nabeel Al-Rawahi obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in 1994. He obtained his master’s (1997) and doctorate (2022) degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. In 2022, he returned to the College of Engineering as an Assistant Professor. He was appointed head of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from 2011 to 2017. He has been the Dean of the College of Engineering since 2020. Dr. Nabeel has research interest in renewable energy and fluids dynamics. He has around 50 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.

Dr. Sabouni is a Professional Engineer and a Professor of Structural Engineering, with more than 35 years of versatile academic and professional experience. He holds PhD and MSc degrees in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, and George Washington University in the USA respectively. He worked as faculty member, researcher, visiting or adjunct professor at several universities, and held Higher Education leadership positions, including a University President, multiple times in the UAE. His academic experience has been paired with professional experience, contributing to some major construction projects. He held senior professional engineering positions in Abu Dhabi including the Building Design Expert of the Public Works Department, and the Projects Advisor of Abu Dhabi Municipality. Prof. Sabouni is a licensed PEng in Ontario Canada, FACI, FASCE, and FCIOB. He is the first winner of the George Winter Award from Cornell University in the USA.

Mohamad Nassereddine: Ph.D., in Electrical Engineering, Western Sydney University, Sydney Australia M. Eng., in Electrical Engineering, Western Sydney University, Sydney Australia B. Eng., in Electrical Engineering, Western Sydney University, Sydney Australia Dr. Mohamad received a Ph.D. degree in the field of High Voltage Power Systems from Western Sydney University where he also received his MEng (Hons) in Research in the field of Electric Machine and Renewable Energy. Dr. Mohamad has over 17 years of experience in industry and academia. He delivered a large number of engineering courses across universities in Australia, the Gulf, and the Middle East. Dr. Mohamad's teaching experience covers the preparations and deliveries of a wide range of courses including electric circuits, power systems, renewable energy, and electrical machines. Also, his experience extends to special topics which include materials that cover the latest technologies and industry requirements. Dr. Mohamad's 15 years of industrial experience cover the design, construction, management, and commissioning of complex power systems networks and renewable energy infrastructure projects. His past experiences involved working with the latest technologies within the advanced electrical power systems for utilities and railways. His consultancy work covers the public and private sectors. Dr. Mohamad introduced advanced equipment to the railway and renewable energy networks which add stability and cost saving to the project. He also managed the team for the new type approvals and updated the training structure for the introduced equipment. Dr. Mohamad received numerous appreciation for his outstanding performance from the industries. He also delivered numerous training workshops to national and international organizations within the electric power system and renewable energy industries. The training captures the latest technologies and their impacts on safety, environment, society, budget, and return on investments. Dr. Mohamad has over 10 years of research and postgrad experience at Western Sydney University and American University in Dubai. His interests include high-voltage electrical power systems, electrical machines focusing on the switched reluctance machine, renewable energy, advanced smart grid for embedded generation, and high-voltage transmission lines and substations. He has many publications in high-voltage earthing systems, lighting design, smart power systems, electric machines, PV solar systems, and wind energy. Dr. Mohamad delivered numerous presentations and seminars at industrial conferences and general meetings.

Dr. Sana Amir is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD). She specializes in Structural Engineering and obtained her PhD from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. Dr. Amir’s research interests include Sustainable Design, Concrete Bridges, Finite Element Analysis, etc. with publications in several prestigious journals. She has also presented her work in numerous international conferences. Dr. Amir has a teaching experience of over 15 years. Other than UOWD, she has worked in American University in Dubai and University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Pakistan.

Hoda A. Al Khzaimi is currently a research assistant professor at New York University Abu Dhabi and the Director of Center of Cyber Security in New York University Abu Dhabi. She served in different posts for research and development in Cyber Security and Cryptology for the past years. She headed the Department of Research and Development for Cyber Security and Cryptology in different national initiatives in the United Arab Emirates along with her associations to different security initiatives nationally and internationally. Alkhzaimi has a specific expertise in Cryptology; cryptanalysis, constructing and validating security hardware and software components, constructing trusted security architectures for different environments in different products for the respective industries. Hoda A. Alkhzaimi obtained her PhD in Cryptanalysis from Denmark Technical University. Her current research interests include Space, Aerospace, and UAV security, constructing and analyzing cryptographic primitives, validating and investigating links between different cryptanalytic approaches, and utilizing cryptographic primitives in different cybersecurity architectures as in Internet and Things of big data analysis among others.

Wathiq Mansoor is a Professor at University of Dubai. He has an excellent academic leadership experience in well-known universities worldwide. He earned his Ph.D. in computer engineering from Aston University in UK. His doctoral work was on the design and implementations of multiprocessors systems and communications protocols for computer vision applications. He has published many research papers in the area of Intelligent Systems, Image processing, deep learning, Security, ubiquitous computing, web services, and neural networks. His current research is in the area of intelligent systems and security using neural networks with deep learning models for various applications. He has organized many international and national conferences and workshops. He is a senior member of IEEE UAE section. He has supervised many Ph.D. and undergraduate projects in the field of Computer engineering and innovation in business, in addition to co-supervise many postgraduate students through research collaboration with international research groups

Hiba Jaber is a Lead Structural Engineer at a leading firm in the local market. Having completed her undergraduate studies at the American University in Dubai (AUD) and graduate studies at Princeton University, she became interested in practical applications in the construction industry in Dubai. Since 2017, Hiba has worked as a structural designer on tens of projects in Dubai and the region, in addition to her interest in teaching where she has taught Reinforced Concrete Design at AUD. In addition, Hiba runs a summer internship program in collaboration with her company and AUD, mentoring undergraduate students interested in structural design.

Graduated with a Masters and PhD in Civil Engineering from Swansea University with thesis topic: “Modelling Damage, Fragmentation and Progressive Collapse of Structures using a Gaussian Springs based Applied Element Method”. Started working in the industry for the last 4 years at MMS Architectural and Engineering Consultants as a Technical Manager, and was teaching part time at University of Balamand in Dubai.

Mohammad is a 28 years old Emirati civil engineer at DEWA. He got his BSCE, MBA, and MSCE from AUD and AUS respectively. He is specialised in infrastructure engineering, operations, and project management. He served as an assistant professor of the civil engineering program at the University of Balamand in Dubai (UOBD) for the academic year 2021-2022. Currently, He is the team leader of water outage planning unit in Dubai’s distribution water network. In addition, he served as the transportation engineering discipline advisor for AUD’s civil engineering graduation project in 2022. In the near future, he is planning to pursue a PhD in Engineering System Management for Smart Cities infrastructure.

Daniela Iacona is the Director for International Engagement and Governance at ABET, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits college and university-level programs in the disciplines of applied & natural sciences, computing, engineering, and engineering technology worldwide. Ms. Iacona has supported ABET’s mission for fifteen years and has played a key role in the development and implementation of its global operations plan. Ms. Iacona currently oversees all of ABET’s international initiatives, including its engagement in mutual recognition agreements, memoranda of understanding, and global outreach and collaboration activities. In her dual role, Ms. Iacona is also responsible for managing all operational activities related to the governance of ABET. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading all Board of Directors, Board of Delegates, four Area Delegations and affiliated Council and Committees operational functions. Ms. Iacona earned her Master of Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and baccalaureate in International Studies from Old Dominion University. She has also earned ASAE’s Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.

With over 25 years of oil and gas industry experience, Dr. Hanan Farhat is one of the leading experts on Corrosion and Materials Engineering in the region. She is a Senior Research Director at Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute and the founding director of the Corrosion Center. Her resume also includes technical service management, as well as senior inspection and lead corrosion engineering positions. She also held a faculty of Engineering position at the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar. She has a PhD in Corrosion Engineering and a Master in Materials and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Her bachelor's degree is in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Tripoli University, Libya. She is a registered professional Canadian Engineer and holds international certifications in corrosion and inspection engineering. She represents the State of Qatar in several regional and international standards committees. Dr. Farhat is an advocate for women rights and gender equality. She is the founder and former Chairperson of the Qatar Women Engineers Association. She also founded the MENA Women in Engineering, and currently acting as the chairperson of the group.

Prof. Dr. Ibtisam Kamal is Professor of Chemical Engineering at Soran University in Iraq. Her main research is on modeling, optimization and simulation of production processes of drilling fluids and biofuels, as well as modified concretes. She is also Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs in the College of Engineering.

Rachida Ajhoun is Professor of Computer Science at Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco. She is an IEEE Senior Member and a decorated recipient of the Royal Medal of Recognition Exceptional Class in 2021. She is a founding member and president (2008-2013) of the Association e-Next Generation Networks and a founding member and vice-president of the APRIMT association. Dr. Ajhoun holds Bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in computer science from Mohammadia School of Engineers in Rabat, and has published extensively in the fields of engineering pedagogy and e-learning.

Dr. Afaf Ghaith, holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Khartoum in Sudan. She was a faculty member at University of Khartoum and served as department head from 1999 to 2015. She is currently with the University of Technology and Applied Science in Suhar, Oman where she is the Chemical Engineering ABET coordinator. Her research interests include low-cost adsorbent materials in water treatment, waste management, and fly ash in soil stabilization and construction.

Asma Almani is an experienced professional in the field of oils and gas. She holds electrical engineering and EMBA degrees. Throughout her career, she worked in multiple functions at internationally recognized companies such as Baker Hughes, Weatherford, Ericsson, and Schlumberger. She currently plays an important role in managing Wintershall Dea's share in ADNOC’s mega ultra-sour gas Ghasha concession, one of the biggest projects in the world.

Ghaida Aburumman is Dean of Engineering and Assistant to the President for International Affairs at Isra University in Jordan. She is a hydrology and environmental engineering specialist with research interests in space technology, GIS, and remote sensing. She holds a B.Sc. in Biosystems Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology and Master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Jordan.
